PENGARUH EDUKASI TENTANG SEKS TERHADAP PENYIMPANGAN ORIENTASI SEKSUALITAS PADA REMAJA DI SMA ISLAM MARAQITA`LIMAT MEKAR SARI

ABSTRACT
Background: Adolescents are a vulnerable group to risky behavior, including deviations in sexual
orientation, which can be influenced by a lack of knowledge and understanding of sexuality. Sex
education is one preventative measure to reduce the occurrence of deviations in sexual orientation
among adolescents.
Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of sex education on deviations in sexual
orientation among adolescents at Maraqita'limat Islamic High School, Mekar Sari.
Method: The study used a quasi-experimental design with a control group pretest-posttest design.
The sample consisted of 92 respondents selected using stratified random sampling. The
experimental group received education using video media, while the control group received
PowerPoint media. Measurements were conducted using the Kinsey Rating Scale questionnaire.
Results: The study showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups
after receiving sex education (p < 0.05). Video education was more effective in increasing
understanding and preventing sexual orientation deviations than PowerPoint presentations.
Conclusion: Sex education has a significant impact on reducing sexual orientation deviations in
adolescents. Nurses and educators are expected to integrate sex education into health promotion
programs in schools.
